<< Duhhh, is this the same guy we put in power >> No. We didn't put Saddam in power. Once again, America has to play with the cards we are dealt. When you are working with backward nations, or nations in turmoil, you can't pick and chose who you want. << I seem to remember America supporting Marcos, Pinochet, Noriega and a whole bunch of other nice little dictators. >> Yes, we have had to deal with many dictators. We have to deal with a bunch now too. Add China and the Arab nations to your list. But, you are being very naive. You blame America for all of the problems and dictators that come to power all over the world. A lot of times, we have had no choice! << When it suits their needs they are labeled GREAT ALLIES, when they've outlived their usefulness they are called TYRANTS. >> Yes. During the cold war, we preferred that some dictators sided with us, rather than with Russia. That foreign policy resulted in our victory over Russia, and the freeing of millions of people, and many countries in Eastern Europe, and the Baltics. You paint everything with your naive brush, showing that you have no concept for how difficult it is dealing with a world that is often in chaos. I don't expect you to know the complexities and problems dealing with this world. But, you portray yourself as an expert in foreign affairs, and then post stupid, immature comments. It may make sense to you. It is a waste of time, for me. |
