The problem was the US could not keep soldiers
in place indefinitely, and Iraqi defectors were in danger.
The UN had years to come with something.
I think the only alternative solution, one I would have
prefered, that the country would be occupied by a huge
number of UN forces. Of course, the US wants Saddam out because he is supporting Hamas and who knows who else. So I really wanted the UN to say that Saddam would have to go.

I thought that is what the UN was supposed to do, remove
cruel dictators. And please I don't want to hear any
excuses how we helped Saddam or how Bush is as bad as Saddam.
