Hi KastelCo,

What I meant by being surprised was that, during WWII we had numerous members of the military that were of Japanese descent, but most of these people served elsewhere, either in the European effort or in support capacity. Very few were actually on or near the front lines. The same thing was true for Koreans during the Korean war. And likewise for people from southeast Asia during the Viet Nam conflict. They simply weren't put into a stressful situation that might challenge their loyalties. But there were those few people that did have front line duties, and as far as I know, those people were there by choice and necessity (special language skills, or special geographic knowledge, stuff like that).
