Yes, I know, you said that right before you said Iran potentially had more to offer as an ally than the EU or NATO, under the circumstances. Which is a truism so obvious anyone looking at a map could have thought of it.

But the fact remains no one in a position to actually influence real events has offered it up as a serious possibility.
