But where do you see evidence that these irregulars (who no longer report to Saddam) do not have the support of the local population? The typical strawman argument is that the locals will support us because Saddam is a dictator. This begs the question of what the locals see Bush as. Hint: A substantial percentage of even the US population (just read the left wing weirdos on this thread) believes that this war is fundamentally about stealing oil. Now imagine what percentage of the Iraqi population feels the same way. Same with US support for Israel, US sanctions against Iraq, US bombing Iraq for 12 years, etc. -- Carl
