I don't know where you live; but I have the same freedom's I've always had ?
I can say anything I want, anywhere, at anytime with complete freedom of speech.
I can publically post any message, political or, otherwise; that I wish.
I can purchase & read any newspaper, magazine, or book, International, or Domestic, of my choice.
I can come & go at my pleasure.
I can freely and safely pursue happiness.
I can move freely about, across all domestic & most International borders by automobile, bicycle, train, airplane, boat etc - with an insignificant amount of delay, or governmental interference.
I can practice any religion of my choice, in virtually any way, shape, or form of my desire.
...and most importantly, I still live in a time & place still thankfully called America, where good people will not remain silent, or inactive, regardless of world, or popular opinion, or regardless of cost; into the face of Evil - when all of those above freedom's are threatened.
We are "acting" not in revenge for the 3,000 dead from Sept. 11th; but for the prevention of the inevitable next scenario of 30,000, or 300,000 dead from the hands of those who have not only spoken, but acted upon their hatred of America and the values & freedom she stands for.
If the cost of maintaining and defending that Freedom, along with granting those same freedoms to the people of Iraq and throughout the world; is that my emails are monitored via supercomputer for keywords, phrases, or encrypted messages reflecting illegal activity, if my banking transactions over $10,000 in cash require notification of regulatory authorities, if my purchase of certain chemicals, or industrial substances trigger questions, or more paperwork, or if my travel requires some delay for security checks and even if my identity is confirmed via existing National Credit Bureau Data Bases upon Airline Travel...I will thank not just those performing these security measures, but the system itself for these small, inconsequential checks in this difficult and dangerous time, in making America safe for not just me, but you as well Sidney.
God Bless America and especially all those who have risen to the occassion, to defend and deliver to the rest of the world, all of those freedoms that we take for granted. |
