Now how is that possible, unless we are always there to watch for it?

"We" will always be watching for WMD wherever they exist. "We" will not occupy every nation on earth in order to do so, including Iraq. "We" are not in the business of occupation.

Rather immaterial to the debate don't you think? It is about plans for Iraq not Japan's desires.

Jacob brought up the subject of Japan. I was merely borrowing the analogy.

I not only doubt that most Iraqis would rather live without SH and his murderous regime, I'm positive of it.

I also never believed that Iraqis would rather Americans "run the show" nor have I read of any American plans for long term occupation of Iraq. But really, it does not matter......SH will no longer be running the show, and that is the objective.

On the whole, Americans would rather Iraqis embrace democracy. The key is giving them the opportunity to make that decision for themselves.

I reiterate........SH will no longer be running the show, and that is the objective.

Your last comment sounds like a threat.
