Sorry, Kenny, but my discussion of how this deal came about was an attempt at intellectual analysis. My interest is in trying to get a handle on the political and economic dynamics that are behind the marriage of this unusual cast of characters. If you think that's "hype" that is your perogative. For me it is, indeed," interpretation" used as a tool to stimulate a discussion that you seem not to be interested in having. The fact of the matter is that most of the recent posts on this board have been infantile. Should anyone wish to have a serious discussion of AIPC's role in this affair, you can count on me to participate...otherwise, count on me being bored to death!

As for the comparaison of ASKEF to AIPC, I think the main difference is that the Sudan suffers from a very violent ethnic war that has been going on for years, if not decades. This ongoing civil war is a threat to any project such as ASKEF's. There is a great deal of political uncertainty in the area. However, in Kazakstan there are no conflicts at this time that might threaten oil production or the welfare of the producers. I think that is a very significant difference. There may be others but I don't really know enough about ASKEF to discuss them with any degree of intelligence.

Finally, with regard to the "oil experts" who are lurking according to Razor, beware. Razor was the guy who intentionally misled this board about his conversation with Huddleston. He gave the false impression that Huddleston was negative on AIPC. These "experts" strike me as a very ethnocentric group who may know about the nuts and bolts of exploration and production but seem to be incapable of discussing AIPN's potential within the political and economic context of Kazakstan. Besides, there seems to be some good evidence that there is oil in the area so their constant warning that you don't know anything until you've drilled is a little less relevant today than it might have been two weeks ago.

Cheers..Faris
