My comment: looks like Turkey is acting completely independently, not following either US or EU lead. Is unilateralism infectious?

Too funny.

What does seem infectious is a Turkish lack of awareness of repercussions. Firstly, it lost the billions in US cash and loan guarantees by vacillating. Now, it wants to go after Saddam's oil and the Kurds--both of which won't be allowed to happen--and thereby put its EU membership at risk. Belgium, the Chocolate Superpower, is making noises that should raise Turkish concerns. What a delicious irony.
