Saddam hurt ? Could war end very soon ? 1) Saw the Saddam speech last night. Fox new had an Arabic academic commentator who said that most of the speech was poetry, and the little information was generic and could have been prepared before the bombing started. Also NO mention of the POWs or the fighting around Nasiria. Saddam would be expected to boast about this. Estimate was about a 90% chance that Saddam was either hurt and/or dead. There's a report of British inteelignece intercepts of a request by Iraq for Russian medical assistance foa an unnamed person. That could be dis-information, but the Saddam speech was not Allied dis-information. 2) Also, U.S. forces are now 50 miles from Bagdad. 3) Fighting in the rear has still been very minor. 4) What we don't see are where the A-10 Warthogs are going. They are most likely hitting the forces around Bagdad. THis could mean that by the time the ground forces arrive, there is very little resistance, not because the elite Iraq forces lack the will to fight, but because they are dead. My Action > Even though the market has been up, I am bringing in all my shorts, bear funds and puts.
