Energy: There was a report this morning that Saddam's speech specifically praised the valiant fighting of the 51st mechanized division. Unfortunately for the editors of the tape, that was the division that surrendered to us at Basra. Did you notice that? The guy is dead, imho, or as good as dead, and it may be one of his (surviving) lunatic sons who is trying to stretch this one out. Now it looks like a 2-3 week war. The Iraqis who faked a surrender and then opened fire just insured that other Iraqis who try to surrender but must scratch a sand flea bite or have a muscle spasm at the wrong time may end up in the to-be-buried pile. My easy and free solution for the armed forces: have everyone surrender buck naked, get a little suntan in the desert while we collect their gear. Obviously, those very very shy ones run a significant danger. Kb
