as to the french boycott thing, I think it is a personal choice [I'm into personal choice]

though I do think people have to be sensible about it

if there is a little french boutique or bonbon shop down the street, run by naturalized US citizens, paying taxes in the US, a boycott would hurt them

I think the 'french' fries and 'french toast' thing is petty

but I always prefer to buy American [if their economy suffers over this, you reap what you sow]

and I think just because products have a 'french' label on them doesn't make it a better product, but is more a 'label' thing to many people [like wines]

all this of course being, imo
