Decliners on the NYSE may be outnumbering advancers by 4 to 1 margin (2,491 to
625), but volume data is suggesting the exchange's performance is even worse.
Stocks losing ground have seen 567 million shares change hands, 19 times up volume
29.7 million shares. The NYSE Arms Index, which relates decliners and advancers
with down and up volume, is currently at 4.77. Readings above "1" are considered
bearish.
