Here's where we differ.

First, he won the right to speak his mind for 45 minutes on an international broadcast because of his exceptional documentary on gun violence. He exercised his right to voice disapproval of the administration and the Iraq invasion instead of listing his agent, muses, family members, etc.

Second, I think the Hollywood community is an excellent forum, as many actors and others involved in the film industry are politically liberal, as well as wealthy and well-connected.

I don't think he's worried one bit about his "moment of glory" being greeted by both jeers and cheers. After all, he's made his reputation and a good living from getting people to think about issues and discuss them.

Just as we are here.
