Here is the official casualties for the USA in the Gulf War:
148 killed in action, 458 wounded.

Today I have seen the first German newspaper articles on how wounded US soldiers are flown to Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

The treatment is at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC).

LRMC is the biggest US military hospital outside the USA. A number from the Web site:
During Operations Desert Shield and Storm in 1990/1991, more than 4,000 service members from that region were treated at the facility
... 10 times the number you quoted.

If more than the about 500 beds available at LRMC are needed then local German hospitals will be approached.
