" a pox on both their houses, would be our wisest course ".

Pox it is then..<GGG>

We are always pressured to show our cards, while other countries get to bluff and fold without being called .We are expected to tow the US line, right or wrong..just shut up and go with the flow.....it sucks...

I always hate Canada getting caught between " Old Europe " and now " Old America ".I liked the " New America " we were sharing boarders with under the Democrats much better.

Clinton,as much as he was unfit to hold that esteemed position with his personal peccadilloes , had a clue about the World and how things worked.

This Clown Prince they have (s)elected is like a kid waking up to the fact there is more to the world than his palace grounds, and wants to make an impression on his new found Dominion.Thank goodness he only has another year or so to F*ck everything up out here. He's going down harder than Monica when the Americans get the chance to give'm da boot.

Read that piece on Cook when it came out.To quote :

He believes there were a number of years of progress when Blair shared a world vision with Bill Clinton, whose administration agreed with Britain's 'fundamental values'. But Britain's closeness to the Bush administration over Iraq is flawed.

'What changed in the last two years is that we are dealing with the Bush administration and there are people in that administration who don't care for any multilateral system committed to security and development,' he said.

'The State Department [the US Foreign Office] is very weak. The Rice, Cheney, Rumsfeld axis is the motor of the Bush administration. They do not allow much space for [Colin] Powell [Secretary of State].'

Indeed...and then some.

There are few,if any, parallels to compare the current situation with, thus those who are using historical measures to find direction are too often wrong, or right for the wrong reasons.

The Kosovo engagement was probably choosing the lesser of two evils. There was no right or wrong...just more or less wrong.......take yer pick. The KLA showed its true colours after they were given the opportunity, and shone light on what many, including myself, were stating here on SI during that time. They were as destructive and corrupt as the next tribe.....but the world lost interest once the bombs stopped falling.Too boring I guess...ho hum....

>>>Anyway, Lew is missing the main point<<<...etc.....

Glad you agree marcos...cause that's pretty well the way I see it too...

One saving grace for us are those who are against this admin's position, but who like us, are supportive of whatever outcome " WE " have to deal with in the aftermath.

I suspect Canada will play some role in whatever that is.

Cheers......
