They do, just not this way. There is no faction in Iraq friendlier to US than the Kurds (note the relative qualifier). Yet even they did not really want this. I remember listening to more than one interview with Kurdish leadership who said, "we do not want to enter Baghdad on top of American tanks and missiles". They all said all they want is to be sure Saddam will not have external support and they will deal with him themselves.
