Bought the puts friday, sold them monday.

Had my finger on the trigger for calls, but decided to give it a day or two. Pretty strong move down today, and the news from the war sounding a bit on the less optimistic side.

This was from todays Decision Point Alert. I think he makes a good point about the war:

STOCKS: Neutral. On Friday traders were thinking that the war might be over by today, but this weekend they learned "this ain't 1991," which is the point I have been making for some time. In 1991 there was extreme anxiety prior to the war followed by immense relief when it started. This time there was eager anticipation followed by growing anxiety. If the market can visualize a quick conclusion, anxiety will fade, but a solution in not currently apparent.

Which leads me to this thought. Is it possible that the military planners have entered this action without a contingency plan for what to do if the Iraqi regime holds its citizens hostage? I don't think so.
