<Turkey has started searching all the way back to old Ottoman Empire treaties for evidence that they are the rightful owners of the Northern oil fields of Mosul and Kirkuk (reported 01/06/03). >

Old treaties are double edged swords, Ottomans have lot a more obligations to the area than the value of the northern oil, this oil can only be used as a compensation of Ottomans initiated ‘Armenian holocaust and the Kurdish holocaust.’
<Turkey has $77 billion + in debt to service and is getting desperate. It's no wonder they want control of the Kurdish Northern area of Iraq. >

Imagine Turkey losing 6 billion $ in loans and 24 in guarantees on top of 76 billon$ only to see that their intransigence really backfired, USA did not really need the Northern force it was may be a good place to start the northern offensive but securing H1 H2 H3 on first day war opened northern air routes.
