No, Sable is much smaller than PEI ... not the greatest atlas here, but it looks to be five per cent or less in area .... it's not much more than a sandbar really, no height to it, little for width ... i just learned of the french colony recently, but it has had other interesting history, many tales of buried treasure and what has been found in the search for them ... EC and ralfph were talking about this on the winter thread last december or so, some fascinating parts to it, unexplainable .... there is a great page on the net, likely 'sable treasure' would google it up

The remarks from Graham [foreign minister] yesterday have been interpreted by some as a change of position, but they are not so at all, they are a logical adaptation to changed circumstances - the canadian stance before the attack on Iraq was to oppose it, however once begun there is lost even the faintest hope of influencing against it, the only logical course is to promote the quickest and least bloody resolution, in order to reduce as much as possible the harmful effects
