I ended up re-checking the msmsgs in startup and when I re-booted the computer and opened OE the AOL messenger did not pop up. I guess by unchecking the msmsgs it made AOL a default. I did try and find within the AOL program a way to disable it, but I couldn't find anything besides "start AIM when Windows starts". It wasn't a problem when Windows opened, it was a problem when OE opened. Now I have that little icon in my startup (Windows Messenger) - I never use it - that is why I deleted it in the first place. I'll just leave well enough alone.
