lots of people feel this way so is it not legitimate to discuss why people might believe this POV?

Jacob has been pounding this "Gitmo is torture" concept for weeks, and to post an article suggesting a "moral equivalence" between the brutal Iraqi behavior toward POWs that we have all just witnessed on TV, and the cushy life of the the Terrorists in Gitmo is an outrage, IMO. It was obvious that they had executed some of them.

As to it's "Legitimacy" here, We have many posters on this thread who believe that the anti-war movement here and abroad is being led by communists and funded by Saddam, and that some of the core members of the anti-war movement in this country are anti-American. We don't discuss that here, not because we don't think it is not "legitimate to discuss this POV," but because it is too inflammatory, and would destroy the thread. Same reasoning, if you must, for Jacob's pounding on Gitmo.

One of the things that pisses off the posters on the right here is the"PC" we have to observe to make sure we don't hurt the feelings of the posters on the left, while an "anything goes" attitude is observed toward posters on the left.
