In other words, if Irael's solution is to have a buffer zone, then that buffer zone should reside on Israels land.

It is not my intent to defend Israels expansionism. I think the problem is as close to being unsolvable as any I've seen. Someone called in to c-span this morning when friedman was on, suggesting they give the Palestinians a nice piece of ground in western Iraq. If only it were that simple...
