Ah John...the crux of the matter...seeing things from other's eyes. We couldn't do it here, but perhaps on an annex thread. See what each of us sees as "inflamatory" and "Why", whether it is an article, or someone's opinion.
There are a couple of Propaganda threads here...but even so, it should probably be an annex to this thread. Some of us do care enough to try to understand another's opinions, as long as they have some basis in fact to them. Or if they are just our own pure opinions, then we could note them as such.
Rumsfeld just said a few minutes ago, in response to "how long the war would be" that the length of time for the war is "unknowable" at this time. It would seem to me that that would be self evident.
However, some of the 'analysts' and media writers have thought and written it would be over in a short time. Evidently those folks have either no sense of history, nor knowledge of the time and effort it takes to supply forces, equipment, food, water, etc for NOT only the Military involved, BUT the civilians in the area as well. So any thought that this would be a "few day war" has been idiotic from the time it left someone's lips and became embedded in someone elses' brain, IMO. |
