And iraq is secular and thus an enemy of al quaida too. But for saddam and the ayotollahs the US is enemy #1 so a tactical alliance is not out of the question. Al quaida hiding out in iran is widely known i thought. What is not known is the degree of official tolerance of this, if any. Mike
