Eric, I do not follow Nokia closely enough to know about their "first combo WiFI/GPRS PCMCIA Type II modem card (D211)". Assuming you are correct, it still does not explain the many news releases related to CDMA that we know are incorrect. A broken clock is right at least twice a day, should it be considered reliable?
