You've just got to look at more indicators to know what's happening with the VIX <G>: stockcharts.com[h,a]daclyyay[d40][pb20!b50!b200!c13!c20!c50!i!d20,2!f][vc60][iUb14!La12,26,9!Lg!Li10,10!Lh5,5!Lp14,3,3!Ll14]&pref=G The VIX daily ADX suggests that we've had some kind of A-B-C correction since the low on Feb 12th. I'm not sure if that works with anything, but I'm just mentioning it. With the stochs buried and the lower BB hit, I'm inclined to believe it's showing us a top, rather than a strong up trend in index prices.
