I suspect that our military has not adequately planned for the fact that Ba'athist loyalists will shoot ordinary Iraqis in the back. At any rate, I didn't.

When I thought about the Battle of Baghdad, I thought we could open up exit lines, and let at least women, children, and old men out, and maybe even young men after being searched.

I now believe that anybody who tries to exit Baghdad will be shot by the Ba'astards.

I feel compassion and regret for anybody who didn't leave before the siege.

I pray to God/Allah that the Ba'athists save their bullets for the coalition, and even more that they run out of bullets soon.

BTW, a google search demonstrates that I invented the phrase Ba'astards for the Ba'athists. I want props!
