Enron gave Bush more $$$$ than any company in history ever gave a candidate. It will keep that world record so long as soft money is outlawed. They not only gave Bush millions in cash, but free private jets, parties, office space, hired Ralph Reed and his christian Coalition for them as "energy advisors" and other shenanigans. For a decade Bush and Ken Lay have been working hand in hand to deregulate the energy business so Enron could control and manipulate it. When the California energy gouging was at its height (going on nation-wide as well) which we now know Enron engineered, Bush-Cheney were AWOL on enforcement. Lied to us nd told us it was "market conditions". Tried to get the public to pay 11 billion in direct subsidies to Big Oil. James Baker headed up Reliant, the #2 Enron type. The fix was in and is still in. The biggest ever ripoff in US history.
