Thinking out loud tonight, Thinking because of what I read and hear causes me to.. I wish all people would think about what they "took in" during some frame of time.. It should include everything from their earliest memory to the last year, month, week, day, hour, a moment ago.. ALL.
And I THOUGHT if our country can survive a few years of selfish leadership WE WILL do just fine.. I know because we:
We set up a college scholarship for graduating H.S. seniors.. We have never seen such a number of extremely qualified applicants, (we could hardly decide a clear winner but that's another story)..So many young people that have done so much outside their scholastic achievements, social, etc..
And that is what decided it for us.. And the "litmus test" was a social conscience and their independence of thought, who thought the best and done the most with that thought..... Helping the less fortunate, here and outside our country, belonging to Amnesty International, working with the homeless, etc.... Besides having 1200+ to 1500+ SAT scores, they were all great athletes.. Nothing wrong with that.. from gymnasts to track to basketball..
So all we have to do, is to be able to survive until young people like the above can "take over".. |
