I have become a big believer in wind generation of power. It uses no fuel, and will never run out. The latest units are capable of supplying over 1000 houses each, can be distributed throughout the rural areas, bringing subsidies to farmers, and creating good rural jobs. They are also inherently more terrorist proof, as hundreds of them would have to be knocked out at once to do any real disruption.

Perhaps it would be feasible to link wind farms together with a supergrid, as the wind should always be blowing somewhere, given a big enough area, thus making wind power more dependable.
