RR,

You really hit a nerve.

I never did take to those books that said push the kids out. Heck, I loved having them come jump in bed with us.

I couldn't agree more. Our youngest isn't dependent in the slightest on being with us during the night. To the contrary, she seems pretty secure, safe and happy to be with us when she wanders down.

I knew the time would come too soon that I would somewhat forget the touch, the smell, the moment, because they would be gone, so I enjoyed every minute of it.

Our oldest grew to be 12 before I could blink. I remember joyous moments when she was young, but know I didn't slow down to enjoy them all enough. I vowed to pay more attention to the little things the second time around, and to give our oldest the best I can at each current moment. We are so blessed to have two great kids; nothing can replace each moment we have with them.
