elmatator - German banks have "issues" See John Drizard's column one or two Friday's ago in the Finacial Times. Also most Spanish banks. HSBC is better, but you may want to diversify to 2-3 banks and different currencies. I think Jay has the right idea here. Maybe a 1% chance of big banking blow up, but why risk it ? Airline crash is aboutr 0.1 to 1.0 per million take offs. 1% chance is actually very big.
