The spiritual leader of the democratic revolutionaries was scheduled to be hung, this led to riots in the street and the eventual release of the revolutionary's leader. All since the axis-of-evil speech. Not the action of a stronger hand. The accelerated nuclear program was a result of the Axis of Evil speech but this indicates a weakening of the Ayatollahs not a strengthening. Don't get me wrong, all is not well in Iran.
