Robert, what you wrote is pure nonsense: "America is the first country in world history who's war plan is to protect civilians, even if it risks American lives. So.... it takes America and Britain longer to liberate a small city like Umm Kasr."
Until World War II, and the advent of massive bombing attacks, wars were fought between armies or other forces, with little civilian casualty. One of the bloodiest battles in modern history took place during the U.S. civil war at Gettysburg, where Union and Confederate forces, fighting out in the fields, away from civilians, managed to kill around 70,000 soldiers in a matter of a couple days, inspiring President Lincoln to give a speech considered one of the finest examples of writing in the English language.
Traditionally wars were fought IN ORDER to protect civilians. But modern weaponry, even the so-called precision smart bombs used today, cannot avoid civilian casualties. This is a major reason why modern warfare is simply out of date, and far more expensive in the long run than seeking non-war solutions. It's too bad neither the Israelis nor the current bunch of thugs running the U.S. are too stupid to have figured this out.
