From what I've read, it is the board of directors and the public who are confused as to who's running Apple. Your're splitting hairs here... The money will still not be flowing into Apple unless it gives up its fight against wintel and becomes a secondary company. I shorted Apple mainly because of the board of directors and their amateur ways!
