I agree with most of what you wrote.

But I still believe that if Israel were non-existent in the Middle East, the situation there would be much easier to manage. Fewer complications lead to compromises and easier solutions to problems.

You put the blame squarely on Allen and Foster Dulles. But many literalist (or whatever) believers place the blame on Abraham for siring Ishmael (the older and illegitimate son born of a slave girl) and Isaac, the younger son.

I recall seeing a picture, some time in the early 1960s, in which Foster Dulles refused the proferred hand of the Chinese Premier Zhou En-lai. Foster Dulles would not then shake the hand of a member of his so-called "Yellow Peril".
Isn't it ironic that the "Yellow Peril" has turned out to be no peril at all..........................?
