Have not billions already been committed to the airline industry by Congress (following 911, I am thinking loan guarentees also)? My only concern is that we would be propping up weak players in an industry that must consolidate, and except for carriers who have seemingly found a way (Southwest Airlines?) support poor business models (which might fail anyway leaving good ol taxpayer on the hook). Thought this article interesting - accessatlanta.com
