Hi Bernie,

Look into "selling against the box". In other words, short the shares of MMM at current price (or optimal price) and close your short position after August 14. The only negative would be that the proceeds would be locked up until you close.

Another issue is that to make sure the "short-against-the-box" loop-hole has not been taken out in the bill currently pending. I have not read the details and there have been talks of Congress doing just that.
