<these animals>
When chickens are raised in poultry farms, they are kept, for their entire lives, in small wire cages. This, for most people, is not inhumane, not immoral, because they are just animals.
And if you depersonalise your human enemy, then you can stop seeing the immorality of putting them in small wire cages for the rest of their lives. They are just animals.
<ostracize those who choose to employ these kinds of tactics>
That's what I've been saying.
Can we agree to ostracize any nation that doesn't follow the Geneva Conventions? And, can we agree that we can't allow each nation to define for themselves what the treaty means, but there has to be an international, neutral forum? I'd be content to let the Red Cross, or any other respected international organization you suggest, be the arbiter.
<This kind of behavior cannot be free>
