I've had this debate before with others.

They believe that the extremists who have hijacked Islam are somehow different from Christian extremists.
Look at the friggin’ world. Muslims are murdering innocent people all over the world in the name of islam. In almost every single country on the planet muslims are engaged in murders or subterfuge against innocent governments. Even the worst of the pseudo-Christian movements are not doing this. Mainly the pseudo-Christian groups are marginalized by other Christians, whereas with islam the murderers are literally cheered for in the streets by tens of thousands.
They seem to think that the fact that there are more Islamic extremists now than is some indication as to the superiority of Christianity over Islam.
Please. Christianity uses the Scriptures to correct itself. Every single error amongst Christians, every single infringement of human rights has been corrected in large part by Christians, with Bible in hand, who point to the error and demand its correction. The muslims do nothing near as clear as this and they cannot do it because their very own Quran can legitimately be taken to command the murder of innocent people.
I don't know how you come to that conclusion without first at least doing some research on Islam.
I have done quite a bit of research. What you apparently take for “research” is mere muslim propaganda. It simply will not do to accept such hogwash as “islam is peaceful because George Bush says it.”
I've suggested research at sites like the one below before to others who've made similarly faulty conclusions…
I have read the site. It is superficial and not credible. All religions have adherents who err. But not all are equally peaceful on the books. The site errs severely when it tries to make the errors of Christians into errors of Christianity and then use this to excuse the flagrant errors of the islamic religion. It is essentially an anti-Christian site and does not well understand how Christian doctrine plays out in the Christian churches. Indeed, it literally accepts Christian Identity groups as legitimate Christians when that group is soundly rejected by the vast majority of other Christians. It accepts Mormons as Christians when the vast majority of other Christian churches reject them. The site is no authority on religion, certainly not on Christianity.

Which is why they ought to avoid such sites as the site you’ve here recommended. Do your own thinking. Read the Quran, the Bible and see if they are the same in essence. They are radically different.
Instead, they'd rather have others do their own thinking, like Robertson, Falwell, and F Graham.
And that is no different than your allowing a goofy website (!) to do your “thinking” (so-called).
Anyway, here is one, in the hopes that it may help you to separate the peaceful world of Islam and the radical murderers who use it for earthly gains (as is the practice of some Christians)
Riight. Muslims are murdering people all across the world in the name of islam, and they are cheering by the tens of thousands the death they have caused, and there is simply no credible muslim challenge to all this death and sorrow and yet you are calling islam peaceful and treating Christians as if they are equally as murderous. You are blind, maaan. And I reject your view.
