SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT DIPLOMACY

I have read many articles and posts from people who claim in one fashion or another that French, Russian, and German governments are within bounds to stand in the way of coalition forces in dealing with Iraq, principally because of a perceived United States vested interest in Iraqi resources.

This is bunk. If French Russian and German governments were interested in protecting their investments in Iraq, they would be on the side of the coalition in maintaining their interests. They have had every opportunity to protect them.

Instead they have chosen to thwart the efforts of US interests. Why?

Clearly these countries weighed the possible outcomes. It is obvious that had they joined the coalition in the use of force this war would have been vastly different and far more one-sided than it already is.

Clearly they have determined that it is in their own interests to use the blood of Iraqi people to further their own agenda.

In terms of world opinion, this shortsighted strategy appears to be working.
