The media is probably the biggest problem we have, as they panic over every incident (as do the viewers), and in a war you have a lot of incidents... I know it works for you but discounting the media may not be a smart move. For an example, the background for the WA Post article I posted was provided by Rick Atkinson. In military circles, Atkinson is considered informed on military matters and is no light weight but then, you'll find a way to discount him. npr.org
