That's one of the reasons I'm so opposed. I think taking action against the Taliban was right, for many reasons (not least that we helped arm and aid them!). But now we've abandoned the country and left it in a dreadful state, arguably - especially outside Kabul - worse than it was when we invaded.
And we promised not to desert them.
That's the precedent. it doesn't look good. And is there really anyone in this administration who you think would have the interests of the Iraqis, or the Afghans, to heart...?
