Jeff, Yeah, basically, the concept was that people would see our fireworks display and surrender immediately. I don't know where they got this stuff. Some of the guys in the administration served in the military, so they aren't all totally ignorant.

During WWII, we bombed the crap out of Germany and studies after the war showed that we had little impact on their ability to manufacture goods. And we dropped more bombs on the Ruhr cities in one day than we'll drop in Baghdad the entire war.

I remember my father commenting about Kissinger's bombing of Vietnam: "That wasn't enough to scare anyone."
