Good comments Wizard. << Too bad there was absolutely NO support by US citizens for any drawn-out military conflict then. It took 9/11 to figure out that we cannot let the Middle East implode while we prosper. >> 9-11 was just the last in a series of more and more bold attacks by bin laden. A US mil barracks in Saudi Arabia was bombed by Al Qaeda. The USS Cole was bombed, 9 sevicemen were killed. The Clinton Admin did nothing although we knew who was behind it. Two US embassies in separate countries in Africa were bombed at precisely the same moment. Clinton did nothing even though we knew who did it. Only one outfit had the reach and capailities to pull that off. These things do not happen in a vacuum. The failed culture of sunni wahabbi islam is the enemy. It'll be decades before the conflict is over. Who will win is a coin toss at this point. It doesn't matter what happens with israel and palestine. That is almost a footnote to the whole thing.
