Ok...I'll go slow for you. There is a risk that China may see US control of ME oil as a threat to China's security and/or prospects for their modernization programs. IF they perceive a threat (that's all it takes now...just a perception of threat since PNAC got the pre-emption ball rolling) they may behave in such a way that becomes a perceived threat to the US. From there the possibilities of escalation to real and specific threats is no longer as far off as was prior to the pre-emption fad.
My post was not addressing the Iraq invasion as a war for oil (I addressed that in other posts) it was addressing ME control of oil as a starting point for future bases of conflict.
I think you would agree that future armed conflicts should be kept to a minimum?
