Interesting post. I, also, have concluded that so far the effect of America's behavior for the last year and a quarter has been to strengthen Persian hardliners. So far I've seen no reason for either Syria or Iran to do anything overtly. America's behavior has been such as to enrage the entire umma, Hence, why shouldn't both countries feign cooperation while "allowing" martyrs to pass through their porous borders. Simply because grandiose plans may exist for both countries, doesn’t mean that the opportunity to implement them will ever occur. First a degree of success in Iraq is needed that (IMO) is only a neo-con fantasy. JMO lurqer
