The dolphin crowd needs to re-think how those mines are actuated. Magnetic mines love a big hunk o' metal. Dolphins aren't particularly magnetic. Acoustic mines "listen" for big propellor screws, which are not commonly found attached to dolphins. Whilst pressure and contact mines have variable rates of sensitivity, it'd be unfathomably illogical to make them so sensitive as to be actuated by fish, and then put them into the sea, a place where there are many — fish. You couldn't catch any ships if you've caught all the fish. "I'll bet there are more than a few people who believe that - as the Russians did with dogs in World War II, to destroy German tanks - the dolphins are being used to detonate the mines."
