Basrah is the second largest city and hardly the tail. Would be a major PR coup to get the "tale" of brutality out there in arabic by arabs. Also saddam takes a major hit in losing second largest city. Also gives us a bit more time to resupply and bring in the 4th for baghdad. "The head of the snake" argument is a good one, but it make take a bit more softening up of the area first. House to house in badgad will be more difficult than house to house in basrah, I think???. mike
